KAMPUNG PANDAN: (SEPT 7, 2015): on the forth day of the feast day Novena at the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Health (OLGH), Fr Ryan Innas Muthu from Ulu Tiram, Johor was the preacher, on September 7. The sub-theme was “Gathered In Unity”.
In his homily, Fr Ryan stressed the three points we are gathered here today in unity. First, is because of One Faith we professed; and the second because of our Baptism in the One Lord, no less, no more. The third is One Mission that Jesus entrusted to each one of us- His mission to go out and be His witnesses of His Good News to all.
The diocesan priest also said many have misunderstanding in families resulted in disunity. We must be the unifier and bring unity in our families first, gathering all in unity, love and forgiving each other. Then we can be the unifier in our parish and in the community we live.
Fr Ryan reminded that we don’t destroy the Body of Christ, the Church; but rather strive for unity.” Avoid all negativity and gossip. Be the unifier instead”.
OLGH Chapel Administrator, Fr Lawrence Andrew SJ con-celebrated the Mass.
After Mass, Fr Lawrence said September 16 which is Malaysia Day, the so-called ‘Red Shirts’ will be out on the streets and there might be trouble, despite the police not granting permit. He encourage all, for the love of our country and our people, especially on Friday, September 11 to fast and pray, so that we will have a peaceful Malaysia Day and that harmony will prevail in the country.
